THINK AND GROW RICH [BOOK]

Absolutely insightful. Genius.

Trust me, I've been on both sides.
Living with an unrecognized depression, I never believed that there were ways to get out of the rut. My subconscious was sure that it had no control over things. Life sucked. I couldn't use my intelligence because fears were strongly repressing it, and therefore repressing my creative capabilities. I did not trust my instincts, actually I doubted my instincts and used to go against them. But I was wrong. So wrong.

"Start Where You Stand"

"Start Where You Stand" Poem by Berton Braley

Start where you stand and never mind the past;
The past won't help you in beginning new,
If you have left it all behind at last
Why that's enough, you're done with it, you're through;

This is another chapter in the book,
This is another race that you have planned,
Don't give the vanished days a backwards look,
Start where you stand.

The world won't care about your old defeats
If you can start anew and win success;
The future is your time, and time is fleet
And there is much of work and strain and stress;

Forget the buried woes and dead despairs,
Here is a brand-new trial right at hand,
The future is for him who does and dares,
Start where you stand.

Old failures will not halt, old triumphs aid,
To-day's the thing, tomorrow will soon be;
Get in the fight, and face it unafraid,
And leave the past to ancient history.

What has been has been; yesterday is dead
And by it, you are neither blessed or banned;
Take courage, man, be brave and drive ahead,
Start where you stand.

So, I created a Pinterest account. I've been seeing far too many things mentioning Pinterest lately and I decided to give it a shot.

Here's my profile.

Welcome The Young Sharkette

"The Shark Tank" investors really inspire me.
Take, for instance, Barbara Corcoran ♥. She had had like 20 jobs by the time she was 23, when I read articles about her I get so inspired and fearless. I seriously need to hang out with people with the same tastes as me... I would love to talk about this sort of subject with someone. I get at my very best when I'm inspired. I noticed that when I'm not in a "driven mode" that I repel people. When I'm at it, I attract people.

I have been watching The Shark Tank every day, sometimes I repeat the same episode 2 or 3 times because I wasn't paying attention or because I just want the company and don't care if it is the same episode or not. Currently on season 5 episode 14.

Thanks to this TV show I gained interest in the science of investment and I'm going to read some books about it.
Started two days ago and finished yesterday "Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money", by Robert Kiyosaki. I also finished "The Richest Man in Babylon", some parts are natural to me, like the one of keeping x of you gainings. Perhaps because I was an avid reader of Scrooge Mcduck when I was a kid (hence the philosophy of the "save as much as you can" - because one day you might need it)
And started just a few minutes ago, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Of course, it is not this kind of books alone that will make me an investor. I intend on reading on real estate (a subject that I'm particularly interested), finance, accounting, and several other fields of economics.

I remember watching the following scene a few years ago on TV with my father.

Bill Gates & Warren Buffett On Leadership

When I'm in Portugal, except for the news at lunch and dinner, I don't watch portuguese TV at all. I watch FOX (portuguese version, but american tv shows only), CNN, CNBC, BBC, Al Jazeera, etc). Watching programs like "60 minutes" at night particularly pleasurable.

Let's go!
レッツゴー!

I should buy a book on these subjects in japanese...
